When telepathic aliens arrive to audit Earth and bill humanity royalties on every thought it has ever had, a forgotten moon-base commander discovers what they are really harvesting — human feeling — and must lead the species in the only defence a mind-reader cannot pre-empt: doing something joyful, unplanned, and completely stupid, on purpose, together. They read every mind on Earth and billed us for our own ideas.
