Copyright reporting, counter-notifications and separate safety-removal procedures
FilmsAI respects copyright and other rights. The service is currently operated personally by Krista Gable and Paul Hawkins in North Carolina, United States. These procedures apply to FilmsAI; they do not automatically apply to separately operated websites.
Creators must have ownership, authorization or another valid legal basis for their submissions and the uses permitted under the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. AI assistance does not automatically eliminate rights in source material or resulting work, and does not automatically prevent protection of human-authored contributions.
Moderation decisions are not court rulings on ownership or infringement. Copyright reports, other rights reports, children's-data requests and intimate-image removal requests are different processes.
1. Copyright complaints and contact details
Send copyright notices to:
FilmsAI Copyright Contact Attention: Krista Gable Email: krista@filmsai.com
Suggested subject: Copyright Notice. You do not need a FilmsAI account, a paid service or a particular subject line to report a concern.
Designated-agent information (interim)
FilmsAI currently accepts copyright notices at krista@filmsai.com (Attention: Krista Gable). Copyright Office designated-agent registration — including the service provider's verified physical street address and the designated agent's registered name, mailing address, telephone, and email — is pending completion and will be published when available.
Publishing this reporting channel is not a claim that Copyright Office designated-agent registration is complete, and it is not a representation of DMCA safe-harbor eligibility.
What a copyright notice must contain
A copyright owner or authorized representative should send a written notice substantially containing:
- A physical or electronic signature of the owner or a person authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work. For multiple works at one online site, a representative list may be appropriate.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it, preferably exact FilmsAI URLs and relevant timestamps.
- Information reasonably sufficient to contact the complaining party, including an address, telephone number and, if available, email address.
- A statement of good-faith belief that the challenged use is not authorized by the copyright owner, the owner's agent or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
Consider authorization and applicable exceptions, including fair use, before submitting a notice. Supporting records can help, but our preferred format does not add a registration certificate, fee, notarization or court-order requirement to the statutory notice standard.
FilmsAI will act expeditiously to remove or disable access in response to a notice that substantially meets the applicable requirements and identifies material subject to the copyright-removal process. We may also act on actual knowledge of infringement or facts making infringement apparent without waiting for a formal notice.
If a notice sufficiently identifies the work, the material and the complainant's contact information but lacks other elements, we will promptly seek clarification or take reasonable steps to assist in completing it as the law requires. An ordinary formatting preference is not a reason to disregard an otherwise sufficient notice.
2. Notice to the submitting creator
When material is removed or disabled because of a copyright notice, FilmsAI will take reasonable steps to promptly notify the submitting user and explain the counter-notification process.
We may provide relevant details or a copy of the notice, limiting unrelated sensitive information where appropriate. Do not assume a copyright notice is confidential or include information unnecessary to the claim.
Removal does not establish that infringement occurred. Do not re-upload, rename, redirect or otherwise disguise removed material to evade the process. Use a counter-notification or an appropriate clarification if you believe removal resulted from a mistake.
3. Counter-notifications and restoration
If you believe material was removed or disabled through mistake or misidentification, send a written counter-notification to the designated contact in Section 1. Suggested subject: Copyright Counter-Notification. Include an email address and the FilmsAI case reference if available to help us communicate.
The counter-notification must contain:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, together with the federal-court jurisdiction and acceptance-of-service statements below.
If your address is in the United States: State that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person's agent.
If your address is outside the United States: State that you consent to the jurisdiction of any federal judicial district in which FilmsAI may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person's agent.
A valid counter-notification, including its required contact information, will be forwarded to the original complainant. This is a legal submission that may lead to litigation. Consider independent legal advice before submitting it. A general moderation appeal is not a substitute for a statutory counter-notification.
Restoration procedure
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, FilmsAI will promptly provide a copy to the original complainant and inform that person that the material will be restored after 10 business days.
Under the applicable statutory process, FilmsAI will restore the material no earlier than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt of the valid counter-notification, unless the designated agent first receives notice that the complainant has filed an action seeking a court order restraining the alleged infringing activity relating to that material. Disagreement with the counter-notification alone is not notice of such an action.
A separate legal duty or independently established violation may prevent republication. We will distinguish that reason from the copyright dispute when notifying the submitting user. A copyright counter-notification does not automatically reverse an intimate-image removal or another independent legal or safety restriction.
4. Repeat copyright infringers
FilmsAI's policy is to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, accounts of repeat copyright infringers. We will reasonably implement that policy using relevant notices, removals, counter-notifications, retractions, repeat conduct and other reliable information.
A single accusation is not automatically a final determination of infringement. Duplicate reports of the same incident are not automatically separate violations. Corrected, withdrawn or misidentified claims will be considered when maintaining the account record.
Serious or deliberate infringement may warrant earlier action. There is no guaranteed number of warnings and no entitlement to keep infringing until a fixed number of notices arrives. Users may not evade termination through replacement accounts or concealed re-uploads.
5. Other rights complaints
Trademark, impersonation, privacy, publicity, likeness, voice, fabricated-endorsement and harassment concerns may also be reported to krista@filmsai.com.
Identify the relevant URL or material, describe the concern and your relationship to the affected person or right, provide relevant supporting information, and state the action requested. A person reporting a noncopyright concern need not invent a copyright claim.
We assess reports under the relevant policies and law. A creator's use of AI, satire or a disclaimer does not, by itself, resolve a rights complaint. Conversely, an allegation does not by itself establish that a legally protected use is unlawful.
For requests about a child's account or personal information, use the Privacy Policy's children's-privacy procedure. Account-age restrictions do not prevent a child, parent or representative from making a report.
6. Misrepresentation and abuse of reporting processes
Do not knowingly submit materially false copyright notices or counter-notifications. Material knowing misrepresentations of infringement or mistake can result in liability for resulting damages, costs and attorneys' fees under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Use rights and safety procedures in good faith, not to harass, censor lawful disagreement or gain a commercial advantage through false accusations. An unsuccessful good-faith complaint or a legitimate appeal is not, by itself, abuse. FilmsAI will not treat a lawful report as a breach merely because it is inconvenient to the platform or an uploader.
7. Report nonconsensual intimate images or videos
FilmsAI prohibits nonconsensual intimate imagery, including qualifying AI-generated or altered depictions of identifiable people. Its separate prohibition on nudity and pornography is broader than the scope of any one statutory removal remedy.
Who may request removal and how
A person depicted in an intimate image or video, or someone authorized to act for that person, may email krista@filmsai.com. Suggested subject: Urgent Intimate-Image Removal.
The request should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of the authorized representative.
- Identification of the image or video and information reasonably sufficient to locate it, such as a FilmsAI URL and relevant timestamp.
- A brief statement that you believe in good faith the depiction was published without consent, including relevant information supporting that belief.
- Contact information through which FilmsAI can reach you or the representative.
You do not need a FilmsAI account, copyright ownership, a police report, a court order or a payment to use this process. A copyright registration or copyright counter-notification is not part of an intimate-image removal request.
Provide links and descriptions rather than downloading, re-uploading or attaching intimate material, especially material involving a minor. You are not responsible for finding every duplicate yourself. A suggested subject line or preferred format is not a reason to reject a valid request.
Our response and timeline
Upon receiving a valid removal request under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, FilmsAI will remove the reported depiction as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receipt. Within that period, FilmsAI will also make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies on FilmsAI.
The 48-hour period includes weekends and holidays; it is not a business-day period. Removal covers access to the relevant media under FilmsAI's control, not merely the thumbnail or search listing. We will not use requests for unnecessary information to postpone a valid request or restart its deadline.
We will communicate the outcome or any information genuinely needed to locate or assess the report. Other people may also report suspected prohibited material; we will review those reports under our safety rules and legal obligations even when a report is not a statutory request by the depicted person or representative.
A correction or appeal concerning a safety decision is handled separately from copyright restoration. No automatic copyright-counter-notice restoration period applies to this procedure.
Child-exploitation and evidence obligations
Where applicable law requires reporting to the appropriate authorities or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline, or preservation of relevant evidence, FilmsAI will comply. Restricted evidence retention does not authorize continued public access. Do not send exploitative files merely to create a report when a link and description are sufficient.
8. Complaint information, confidentiality and retention
We use report information to assess the concern, take appropriate action, communicate with affected parties, maintain relevant repeat-violation records, resolve disputes and satisfy legal duties. Retention is limited to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes and applicable legal requirements.
Copyright notices may be disclosed as needed to handle the claim. Valid counter-notifications and required details are shared as stated in Section 3. Sensitive safety reports are handled separately; we do not automatically forward a victim's intimate-image report or private contact information to an uploader.
Relevant disclosures to representatives, professional advisers, courts or authorities remain subject to law and the Privacy Policy. A preservation requirement is not permission to keep removed media publicly accessible or to use it for an unrelated purpose.
9. Updates and contact
FilmsAI Current operators: Krista Gable and Paul Hawkins Current operating location: North Carolina, United States Reporting email: krista@filmsai.com
We will update contact and operator information when it changes and maintain the applicable designated-agent information and registration. Material procedural changes will have an updated effective date and appropriate notice. Changes do not extend statutory deadlines or eliminate rights concerning pending reports.
The planned relocation and business formation on or around October 19, 2026 do not suspend these procedures. This interim policy remains in effect until properly replaced.
