The Wrong Planet

Commander Elara's crew files reports on civilisations that have mistaken procedure for meaning: a planet where they're cast as extras, a wellness colony that grades relaxation, a meeting six thousand years from adjournment, an audit that has exhausted its own auditor. Filming all of it, three metres from every authority, is Zorgon Prime — a documentarian who believes each broken system is the most interesting thing he has ever seen, and is never wrong. Cutting against them both is The Girl, who declines to fix wrong planets and simply leaves, collecting exit stamps the way the crew collects certificates.
