A man sits alone at his desk and answers a phone call from someone close to him. He listens, smiles, and warmly congratulates them on good news, then asks how they are doing. On his laptop, a rejection email is open: his job application was unsuccessful. He begins to answer honestly “Actually I…” but stops, closes the laptop, and rests his head on the desk in silence.
