A gum-chewing saboteur tied to a villain's chair has until midnight to stop the Maestro of a spiral concert hall from playing the Hush, one chord that seals every mouth in the city forever. When the Maestro tests it early on his own audience, the silent crowd becomes a horde that hunts sound, and the hero's worst habit becomes the most dangerous thing in the building, and the only weapon he has.
